On a trip through New Zealand, Alison Turner traveled off soil creating the series 'Vanscapes". Displeased with her corporate lifestyle she felt the need to pack up her car and travel in search of something. After having all of her belongings stolen from the van she rented except for a passport, her wallet, and iPhone she began to realize that everywhere she went was so different from the rest. Everyday was unique to her and with the iPhone she was left with she began to bring the viewers along for the ride. I love the framing involved in in series. Even though its repetitive I love the way the window frame unifies the series and captures the photo like you're actually there. The windshield also adds to the photo because it shows what's actually happening in the elements. Being able to see the raindrops in photos three and four adds feeling to the photo. There's a sense of peace involved with the feeling of being inside the van looking out rather than capturing the photo without the frame work. http://lenscratch.com/2014/06/alison-turner-vanscapes/
