My best photo is of my dog, Missy, when I placed her in a Munroe Dairy box outside. The shadow lines are strong in my photo, and the box edges create leading lines to the main subject (Missy). I also like the lighting created by the sunset. To improve this photo, I would remove the white door frame in the bottom left corner.

Capturing Light
(First Picture) -I took my photograph around 4/5PM. -I photographed the light coming in from the back window and reflecting/shinning off the stairs. -In my photo, the stairs lead your eyes from bottom to top, or top to bottom with the lines created. Some rule of thirds is shown with the horizontal lines. -There were shadows of the stair above the below one, which shows the light is from above casting the shadows down. -In the black and white version the stairs create and eerie feeling. It doesn't show as much in color, but they both create mystery and make you feel like you're in the place of the picture.

Day of the Dead
Spooky
Tributary (Series 1)
Since I've grown up on the water and have been surrounded by beach themed design, the water to me symbolizes home. The photos I've taken are all visually unified from showing the water in relation to time. The order that they are placed represents a day passing by. Also, the natural color gives the photos some sort of tint that groups each picture together.
Photo 4: This photo represents my concept well because it not only shows water, but it includes sea life (or past life) with water. The meaning is to show life with water and that it's not just a home for me but a home for other life. Compositionally this photo holds a depth of field by being able to see the horizon in the distance. The rule of thirds if followed with the claw in the center of the photo, and there's a texture contrast with the dirty claw and the clean water. I considered the use of aperture and where to focus while taking the photo.
Photo 6: This photo represents still water. The meaning is to show the calm sensation that water can bring. A depth of field is created by the sea grass moving further away and the water in the foreground being so close from the point of view. Texture from the leaves breaks the calm of the water, and this photo also somewhat follows the rule of thirds. I also used aperture to compose this photo so it would focus on the leaves that are in the middle ground.
Photo 10: This photo represents early morning water, and the ripples of a rock being thrown into the calm water. The meaning is begin to break the calm of the water created. Compositionally, there's rule of thirds and pattern created from the ripples. The only thing I considered in this photo was getting the ripples in the center of the photo, even though they're very subtle.
