Best photo; - Crab claw in my back yard - Strong points: Texture contrast (smooth water, rough claw), Aperture (slightly focused on leaves), also reflection - Importance: I like to photograph nature (mainly water), since this is my backyard it signifies home. - Changes: Remove the black rocks in the top right corner. Make it more saturated?

Pinhole
Camera obscura is when light creating an image is projected into a dark area or room onto a surface that's able to capture the exposure. The black electrical tape is the shutter of the pinhole camera. Once the shutter was removed from the camera the light sensitive paper had been exposed for 4 days until the shutter was put back on. My aperture was created from the pin hole that was made in the aluminum of the can cut out. How big or small the hole is creates the focus on the object outside of the camera. The focal length is the distance between the light sensitive paper and the hole (aperture). In this case it was the size of an altoid box. My camera was placed in between the two roads at the main drop off area in front of the building. The light post held the camera as it was facing the line of trees stretching down the road. Since my camera was directly facing the trees there was only one shown in the image. My exposure lasted for 4 days. The light source of my exposure was the natural light from the sun. My image appeared on the paper upside down and and flipped horizontally. Once taking down the pinhole camera I had the paper taken out to scan in a dark room. The photo was scanned then flipped horizontally and vertically to show the true image being captured. Along with inverting the negative image and darkening the image to make it less washed out. I was surprised at how small the image appeared, yet how detailed the image could come out. If I could redo the assignment I would make the aperture bigger to make the image softer and larger.

Pinhole 1
-My pinhole camera was overlooking the water in my backyard on rocks surrounding the pier. -I left the camera out for four days. -The light of the sun shows up in my photo, but I'm not sure what light is swirling in the water. It could be a boat or lights reflecting off the water from the city. The weather/location makes the water look completely smooth since it's constantly moving, blurring out the waves and ripples. I left it out more nights than days, so the pinhole is slightly darker in the inverted image which I like better. -If I could change the photo I would make sure the horizon is straight, and I'd try to make it as level as possible next time. -The inverted image is darker than the first pin hole due to the time it was exposed. On the other hand the light from the sun is similar. -This time the hole in the camera was larger and more centered making the image more focused on which is better.
