1. Nature photos of trees, rocks, etc. I found these mostly around my house or around the neighborhood. 2. I took a photo of a flag with rocks and water in the background. The lines are the flag stripes, the vertical flag pole/stick, the line where water and land meet, and the line on the horizon. Some shapes are mainly the rocks, or the stars on the flag. 3. I'm not to close to the subject (the flag), but I'm not to far away either. I have enough distance to see the water in the back and the horizon of the trees and the sky in the very back. 4. I'm slightly above the flag, but close to straight on 5. Horizontal with the flag stripes, water, and tree/sky line. 6. I considered the rule of thirds in four of my photos. I considered it in the first photo of the starfish because it's not directly in the middle of the picture, it;s more off to the side. Next, in the third photo with the bug i had the bug the center of the photo since the background surrounding the bug is the same. Also in the fourth picture because the flag is the focus point of the photo, but its not directly in the middle so you can also focus on the line of rocks or the water. Lastly in my sixth photo with the rocks theres a think plant in the middle that I tried to make my focus point by putting it in the center. 7. I think my fifth picture is the closest to being a dynamic composition photo. Your eyes go down the path of patted down grass which leads to the water, but you also see the tree in the top right corner and then the line of rocks leaning back to the beginning of the path.
Pattern and Texture
1. My best photo is of all the theater seats. There are multiple seats in rows which creates a pattern. There's more light in the center of the seats than around the ends due to the lighting above. 2. In the shot, I took it close to the bottom seats, but far from the seats above. 3. My point of view if from below looking up at the seats. 4. My photo is more horizontal due to the chairs in perfect horizontal rows, but going vertical the seats aren't perfectly aligned. 5. The photo doesn't follow the rule of thirds since there isn't one subject to focus on against a background. 6. This photo is an example of pattern. Having multiple chairs creates a pattern, but how they're all in rows and columns it creates rhythm. Examine your photos and answer the following questions: 1. The image of the leaves is overexposed. The sun was directly to the side of the leaves on a bright day creating a large amount of light. The tips of the leaves are more over exposed due to the curve of the leaves being heavy. 2. Out of all the images, the photo of the seats is the most underexposed. This could be because I took it inside, where as all the other photos are taken outside with natural light. Around the edges has the darkest areas. 3. The best example of a properly exposed photo would be the photo of the dog looking out at the water. There are many shades of grey in the hair of the dog, but there are no extremely white or black areas. The lighting wasn't the same as the other pictures because the sun wasn't as bright at that moment.
Motion
Fast shutter speed: 1. I used a shutter speed of 1/180 sec. 2. The ISO is 6400 and I had a fluorescent white balance. 3. I froze the spinning of the green toy. I didn't fully freeze it since there's still some blur visual. The object is in one position clearer than normal. 4. The point of view is straight on, but slightly lower to the ground to capture the full picture. the distance is a few feet away to capture all of the image. 5. There's lots of positive space in the picture. The holder of the object being captured and the background create less focus on the object needing to be focused on. There is shape found in the round spinning toy, the table seats, the table, and more. There are lines in the headphone wires, the jacket, and the rod holding the toy in a spinning motion. There's also some pattern and texture in the scarf.
Slow shutter speed: 1. I used a shutter speed of 1/6 sec. 2. The ISO is 100 and I had a florescent white balance. 3. I froze the spinning of the green toy and the hand moving the toy up and down. This was meant to slow blur in the picture while the rest is clear. 4. The point of view is straight on, since she is sitting the photo isn't taken as far away compared to the first picture. 5. The picture is full of positive space in the background. There's more focus on the blur of the object since the rest of the picture is clear. There are still lines found in the headphone wires, the jacket, and the rod holding the toy in a spinning motion. There's also some pattern and texture in the scarf.
